CCTV Monitoring Goes Mobile
Thomas Williams Electrical and Security division have adopted new technology allowing CCTV footage to be viewed live from almost anywhere. ‘RAS Mobile I’ is an application available for iPhone which connects to a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) over the internet, allowing a live video stream from any camera on the system. The app works with a range of DVRs, including models widely used in Thomas Williams’ CCTV installations.
This technology can prove incredibly useful and valuable, especially for buildings with monitored fire or intruder alarms. If a designated key holder is alerted of an alarm activation, they can check the CCTV system remotely to ensure the area is safe before heading to site. This greatly reduces the chance of encountering thieves/vandals and entering dangerous situations.
